Lemmon Valley Horsemen’s Arena Reno, Nevada Shows start at 8:30 A.M.
Classes offered include Leadline and Walk/Trot/Jog for the young riders, Halter, Arabian Sport Horse, Showmanship, Lunge Line Discipline, Reining, Trail, English and Western Seat Equitation, English and Western Pleasure, English Riding Skills, Western Horsemanship, Discipline. Classes are offered for all breed participation and additionally specific classes are offered for Color Breed Horses and for Arabians/Half Arabians/Anglo Arabians. Sagebrush Community Horse Shows are designed for handlers and riders of all breeds of horses to experience a fun, affordable and rewarding adventure in the show ring. Special classes are included for the novice rider. Professionals may show in Arabian/Half Arabian/Anglo Arabian classes for schooling but will not be placed. All riders are welcome to ride in and be judged in the All Breed and the Colored Horses classes. Colored Horses classes are halter, English Pleasure and Western Pleasure. These classes are open to any horse which shows color that is recognized as a breed color. The following color breeds are examples of eligible horses: Paint, Pinto, Appaloosa, Buckskin, Dun, Palomino, Cremello and Grulla. No Blacks, Bays, Grays, Whites, Chestnuts/Sorrels, Browns, Roans or Breeding Stock. All Sagebrush shows are recognized as Paint Alternative Competition (PAC) events and members of the Appaloosa Horse Club can earn points in the Appaloosa Competitive All-Breed Activities Program (ACAAP). Just bring your forms for our secretary’s signature at each show. A special opportunity for the Novice Rider (not to have won more than 3 blue ribbons in any mounted class) is the Hobby Horse Rookie Rewards Walk/Jog Western Horsemanship class. Winner receives a $100 gift certificate for Hobby Horse Clothing. Ribbons to five places. See Class Specs for details. All classes will offer JACKPOT PAYBACKS. Checks will be mailed following the completion of the four show circuit. Arabian/Half Arabian Amateur showmanship and equitation exhibitors – talk to show management about an alternative award in lieu of money jackpots. HIGH POINT END- OF- CIRCUIT PRIZES will be awarded to High Point All Breed English Horse, High Point All Breed Western Horse, High Point English Arabian/Half Arabian and High Point Western Arabian/Half Arabian. Prizes will include Columbia River Tack ONE HUNDRED FIFTY DOLLAR Gift Certificates for ARIAT boots. Sagebrush Community Horse Shows are sponsored by the Comstock Arabian Association and are registered with the Arabian Horse Association. Arabian/ HA/AA class exhibitors and horses are eligible for Arabian Community Show awards. Arabians must be registered with the Arabian Horse Association to participate in “Arabian/HA/AA” designated classes. Attention Out-Of-Town Exhibitors – Private arrangements for boarding horses may be made so you have an easy morning of getting to the show. Please call Christine Hoffman at (775) 972-1988 or call Pam Echols at (775) 677-8638. Both private facilities are very near the Lemmon Valley Horsemen’s Arena. Pre-entries are $8.00 per class. Entries will be taken the day of the show with an additional $2 late fee per class. $3.00 per person insurance and office fees. Directions to Lemmon Valley Horsemen’s Arena: Exit off Highway 395 at Lemmon Drive, exit 74, go 3.9 miles on Lemmon Drive to Nectar Street (look for the white church on the corner). Turn right, go ½ mile to Chestnut, turn left and then go 1 block to Alaska and Chestnut. Arena is at the corner of Alaska and Chestnut streets. If you are using a computer-generated route or map, try 11400 Deodar Way, Reno, Nevada 89506 as your destination. Please pre-enter the show. Shannon will confirm receiving your e-mail. Trail will begin at 10:00 A.M. and close at 2:00 P.M. Please ride your class(es) as soon as possible. Snack bar will be provided by the Patriot Grill. Dogs must be on a leash at all times. Play ground available for smaller kids.
